Version 7 introduces significant improvements and new features. The most
important of these is a dramatic performance increase with the ability to
use multiple CPUs (SMP support) and much better handling of concurrent
queries. In addition, version 7 introduces a new Boolean type, real-time
monitoring, some security improvements, for Java users, a Type 4 JDBC
driver, and a few other enhancements.
These will be covered in more detail, with demonstration of better query
handling, the Boolean type, and some examples of querying the new system
monitoring tables.
